About ...
---------
Hi!
About ... These Files
---------------------
Hope you enjoy my contribution to the world of pooter music - I decided that
it would be a good way to get some of the music I'd written heard. Some of
the tunes here are by other people who I have no connection with whatsoever -
I just like the song. I only claim credit for tracking the things into a
sequencer. But the rest I wrote, along with a friend of mine. I still write
music, but haven't had the time to turn them into MODS. The next phase of
music releases will probably be GS-MIDI files, sometime soon.
About ... Me!
-------------
Well why not! I've been using computers now for years and years since my
first Oric back in 1983. Since then I've written in quite a few languages,
but I prefer C,C++,6502/80x86 assembler for any real work. I mainly develop
under Linux now, a Unix variant for PC's, but can be bribed to work under
DOS. I don't do Windoze programming, and try and avoid Borland
environments. Nothing personal (for the latter) but it's just not how I like
it :) I've been occasionally known to turn my hand to sprite design and
artwork for games, but only when I feel like it. I've also got a keen
interest in listening to, writing, recording and sequencing music. Most of
the things that I've written have been recorded to 4-Track tape with the aid
of my mate Steve B., who helped write some of these here tunes. I'm just in
the process of finishing my Computer Science Degree at Warwick Uni, and will
be losing Internet access somewhere around September/October 1995 - so if you
do mail me, do it soon... Otherwise, you can contact me through the address
in the modfiles, and in Whatsout.Doc ...
About ... Current Projects
--------------------------
Things I'm working on right now - well my third year project is absorbing
most of my coding time at the moment. "MUSE" is a nice multi user simulation
environment, in which artificial life forms (robots) can be programmed to do
all sorts of interesting distributed AI tasks. They exist in a 2d world, and
are getting quite complex in their nature. They are simulated right down to
I/O card for motion, vision, ranging etc, and a simulated processor to run
the programs on. Some time soon I shall add a nice GUI over it, make a
DOS/Linux single user version and let it out for people to play with. If you
want to know a bit more, and my Email is still valid, just ask! There's also
a game in the works which is .... secret. See below.
About ... Future Projects
-------------------------
Currently working on music and code for some games to be released this year
if all goes well (Just like Windows 95, but better). Stand by your net
connections ... or modems ... or however you get your feed! If it all takes
off as planned, I should regain net access somehow, somewhere.
About ... To go now!
