These days it hosts professional productions more frequently than student shows.[PARA][BOLD]Clubs/discos: [EBOLD]Every night in term is club night in the Union in the customised Terminal 396 (cap 1,500, adm ú3). [ITAL] From the rarest grooves to the hottest moves, this is natural ecstacy.[EITAL][PARA][BOLD]Cabaret: [EBOLD]Twice-a-term titter-touting from the likes of Jenny Eclair, Harry Hill, and the late, great Bill Hicks.[PARA][BOLD]Music venues: [EBOLD]The Great Hall (cap 1,500) in the Union is the biggest of the University's 3 [ITAL]excellent venues all with ambient atmosphere[EITAL]. [ITAL]As a result, Cardiff Union hosts bands about once a week and is a premiere whistle stop, for both the famous and the would-be[EITAL].[PARA][BOLD]Recent band appearances: [EBOLD]Manic Street Preachers, Cocteau Twins, The Grid, Orbital.[HDNG]EATING OUT:[EHDNG][PARA]During the day the college refectories serve full meals and snacks (pay-as-you-eat) and the Union cafeterias cater for all the needs and greeds of the daily trade. As a result, students don't often turn to the local facilities to bridge that snack gap. However, when the sun goes down, those who quest a change of scene venture forth to the city's many fodder troughs.
