These days it hosts professional [PARA]productions more frequently than student shows.[PARA][BOLD]Clubs/discos: [EBOLD]Every night in term is club night in the Union in the [PARA]customised Terminal 396 (cap 1,500, adm ú3). [ITAL] From the rarest [PARA]grooves to the hottest moves, this is natural ecstacy.[EITAL][PARA][BOLD]Cabaret: [EBOLD]Twice-a-term titter-touting from the likes of Jenny Eclair, [PARA]Harry Hill, and the late, great Bill Hicks.[PARA][BOLD]Music venues: [EBOLD]The Great Hall (cap 1,500) in the Union is the [PARA]biggest of the University's 3 [ITAL]excellent venues all with ambient [PARA]atmosphere[EITAL]. The others are the Terminal 396 (see above) and [ITAL][PARA]top-notch[EITAL] Finistere (cap 300). [ITAL]As a result, Cardiff Union hosts [PARA]bands about once a week and is a premiere whistle stop, for both[PARA]the famous and the would-be[EITAL].[PARA][BOLD]Recent band appearances: [EBOLD]Manic Street Preachers, Cocteau [PARA]Twins, The Grid, Orbital.[HDNG]EATING OUT:[EHDNG][PARA]During the day the college refectories serve full meals and [PARA]snacks (pay-as-you-eat) and the Union cafeterias cater for all the [PARA]needs and greeds of the daily trade. As a result, students don't [PARA]often turn to the local facilities to bridge that snack gap. However,[PARA]when the sun goes down, those who quest a change of scene [PARA]venture forth to the city's many fodder troughs.
