  13. Summary:
  14. Below is a summary of the changes to the audio drivers in the
  15. Microsoft Windows Driver Library (WDL). The WDL offers support for
  16. many printers, displays, and sound cards not provided with Microsoft
  17. Windows operating system version 3.1.
  18.  
  19. To see WDL.TXT, which contains a complete listing of the WDL's
  20. contents and instructions for obtaining the WDL, query on "Q82006"
  21. (without the quotation marks) in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

  31. Artisoft Sounding Board Driver (ARTIS.EXE)
  32. ------------------------------------------

  34. 06/19/92 - The Artisoft Sounding Board driver has been updated to
  35.            provide improved performance and quality. It is recommended
  36.            that you upgrade your driver if you are using previously
  37.            released versions of this driver.

  39.            A message was added to the self-extracting .EXE file to
  40.            remind customers NOT to run the .EXE file in the WINDOWS or
  41.            WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. Also, the new license agreement
  42.            was included.

  44. Creative Sound Blaster Pro/Pro Basic (CREAT.EXE)
  45. ------------------------------------------------

  47. 06/19/92 - THE DRIVERS HAVE NOT BEEN CHANGED. A message was added to
  48.            the self-extracting .EXE file to remind customers NOT to
  49.            run the .EXE file in the WINDOWS or WINDOWS\SYSTEM
  50.            directory. Also, the new license agreement was included.

  52. 06/02/92 - No changes were made to any of the Creative Sound Blaster
  53.            Pro drivers. The only change occurred in CREATIVE.TXT.

  55. 05/28/92 - The drivers in CREAT.EXE have been updated to be more
  56.            stable. The main changes are to MIDI. The Mixer is also
  57.            improved from the earlier WDL version of this driver. All
  58.            buttons and features, such as Save Settings, now function
  59.            correctly. CREATIVE.TXT includes more information on
  60.            installing and using these drivers.

  77. 06/02/92 - This version of SPEAKER.DRV contains a workaround for
  78.            machines (specifically AST, but there may be others) that
  79.            implement  their speaker ports in a nonstandard way.
  80.            Specifically, both PPI bits are now toggled on and off,
  81.            rather than just the speaker bit.

  83. 05/06/92 - No change was made to the driver or supporting files.

  85.            This file was replaced because a .TXT file needed to be
  86.            changed.

  88. Pro AudioSpectrum Audio Adapters (PROAUD.EXE)

  91. 05/14/92 - PROAUD.EXE has been removed from the Windows Driver
  92.            Library. These drivers have been found to crash systems
  93.            when running multimedia-intensive tasks, for example,
  94.            animation, video, and sound at the same time.
