Transcription: Electrophoresis is the motion of fluid suspended cells as influenced by an electric field. On Earth, electrophoresis is limited because heat and buoyancy from the electric field cause the cells to reunite. In space though, buoyancy is absent due to the low gravity environment. Medical researchers who arranged the electrophoresis test hoped that studying the process in space would give them new insights into cell biology and immunology. The crew member activated the equipment containing the fluids during the flight and after an hour the samples were frozen to preserve the degree of separation. ...
