Transcription: The plant gravity experiment was designed to investigate the growing behavior of grass in a microgravity environment. The question was whether the plants would grow as they did on Earth. Several spring grass seeds were planted in soil and transported into space by means of a hermetically sealed glove box. Their growth was tracked throughout the mission. Calling the tests very successful, scientists noted that the seeds sprouted and grew without hesitation. However, without the sensation caused by the pull of gravity, the roots came up in many different directions.
