Transcription: A flight system checkout is a routine yet critical task during the orbiter's voyage. It is also a central part of the pilot and commander's onboard duties. There are five onboard computers to assist the commander during the checkout. These computers can work together or separately. They are programmed to check on each other and if there's a discrepancy, they actually vote in order to resolve the argument. Shown here are Commander David Walker and Pilot Rick Hauck going through the system checkout as it is done during flight.
