  5. a specific object, a widening
  6. spiral search method can be
  7. used.  In the diagram, if you
  8. started at the small square: 
  9. walk 20 paces in one
  10. direction, turn 90 degrees,
  11. walk 20 paces, turn 90 degrees
  12. walk 40 paces.  Continue to
  13. walk in this pattern, adding
  14. 20 paces every second turn. Of
  15. course, the distance you walk
  16. before your first turn can be
  17. anything, depending on the
  18. size of your objective, how
  19. far you can see, and the
  20. terrain.
