CorelDRAW! 3 Made Easy
Book Review by Bruce Johnston
From beginning to end this book offers tips, exercises and examples
to improve your skills in CorelDRAW! 3. It expands on the
comprehensive video tape and User's Manual that accompany the
program and provides some stimulating ideas for creating your own
layouts. This is a book for the beginning and intermediate user.
It reviews the basic drawing tools, progresses through special
effects, text manipulation and finally, tests your mettle with a
poster design that requires you to use most of the techniques
learned throughout the book.
One example of the depth of material in this book is the section on
the status line. When drawing a line the status line displays not
only the starting point of the line, given in X and Y coordinates,
but the length, the angle and the end points. Another example is
the Chapter devoted to Printing and Processing Images. It
discusses in detail the various output options available to you and
offers tips to gain satisfactory printing results based on the type
of printer you use.
New features included in CorelDRAW! 3.0, CorelCHART!, CorelSHOW!
and CorelPhoto-Paint! are also explored. For newcomers to
illustration and graphics programs, this book offers exercises to
develop one's skills and provocative ideas for adapting to your own
designs.
