THE INTERSTATE TRAVELER
AUTHOR: David E. Jacobson (ASP) VERSION 2.0
Jacobson Software Enterprises
P.O. Box 3724
Bartlesville, OK 74006 REGISTRATION FEE: $29
(918) 333-7563
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Plan motor trips on the Interstate Highway System.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
The INTERSTATE TRAVELER is a graphical tool for planning motor
trips across the contiguous United States using the Interstate High-
way System and highways added to the maps.
From a map of the United States, an area is selected and
magnified for a closer view. Then, for each day of the trip, the
keyboard or mouse is used to select a starting city, the intermediate
points along the way, and a destination for the day. Stops for meals,
gas, visits, rest, and overnight stays can be scheduled as needed.
Once an overnight stay is planned, an itinerary and an estimate of
expenses for the day can be prepared and printed. In addition, prints
of the screen maps can be made as the trip progresses.
Cities, towns, and highways can be added anywhere on the screen
maps. These new features are saved until selected for deletion.
Also available are individual maps of forty major U.S. cities.
These can be used to find routes around or through a city or to
locate places to visit in them. They show major highways; features,
such as lakes and rivers; locations and descriptions of selected
points of interest; and population and weather information.
The planned trips can be saved in trip files and continued or
modified at some later time. They are also saved until selected for
deletion.
