I. INTRODUCTION
TAXWIZZ 92 is a tax preparation program that produces completely
filled out transfer forms of Form 1040, Schedule A, Schedule B and
Schedule D. Data are entered on personal information questionaires,
replicas of the most common forms that are sent out by employers,
banks or stockbrokers and summary screens for less common entries.
The program resolves inconsistencies in input data, calculates
standard deductions, exemptions, taxes and refunds or amounts you owe.
Use of the program is almost completely self-explanatory. Prompts are
provided for every screen and standard mouse support and menu select-
ion are available.
TAXWIZZ 92 will help you produce complete, accurate transfer forms for
Form 1040, Schedule A, Schedule B and Schedule D.

one floppy disk drive

Run the program by typing TAXWZZ92 while in the directory or drive
to which you have copied the files.
Prompts will appear at the bottom of the screen which are self-
explanatory. Read them and follow the instructions to allow the
program to continue.
The menu line at the top of the screen presents choices of other
available forms in the selected main category. Proceed to a menu
choice by clicking on it with the left mouse button, by pressing
<ALT> and then one of the highlighted letters or move the black
selection bar with <ARROW> and press <ENTER>.
Pressing <ESC> anywhere in the program, except the main memu, will
present the next menu selection.
<F1> will print a copy of the information on the screen on your
system printer.
<ENTER> and the <RIGHT ARROW> keys will advance the cursor to the
next entry field, other <ARROW> keys will change cursor position
appropriately.
Any other key prompts editing of the entry.
An entry of 0.00 is recorded when only <ENTER> is pressed after a
request for a numerical entry.
Clicking the left mouse button while the mouse cursor is anywhere
within a field prompts editing.
The right mouse button equals <ESC>.
All entries are tested. If an entry contains an invalid character,
it is erased and the cursor is returned to the beginning of the
field.
The information requested is presented in the order it appears on
Form 1040 or Schedules A, B, and D. Use the IRS 1040 Instructions to
verify requirements for and definitions of the entries. TAXWIZZ 92
is a tool to help prepare tax returns, it does not offer, nor is it
designed to provide, advice on tax preparation.
IV. (P)ERSONAL INFORMATION
The menu selection (P)ERSONAL INFORMATION presents questionaires for
information needed for the LABEL, FILING STATUS and EXEMPTIONS
sections for form 1040.
As a minimum you must enter social security number(s) and a filing
status
TAXWZZ92.DOC PAGE 3
IV. (P)ERSONAL INFORMATION (continued)
Enter social security numbers as nine digits ( no dashes ), the
program will format your entry.
Enter <X> to check a box .
Enter 0 in the "MOS" column for dependent children if the child did
not live with you, otherwise enter a number greater than 0.
V. (I)NCOME
The menu selection (I)NCOME prompts the program to present facsimiles
of common income reporting forms and summary screens for other, less
common entries.
One of each form is presented for each social security number if the
filing status is "Joint Return" and an SS number is entered for the
spouse. You can ask for additional forms if needed.
Use a minus sign (-) for losses and no commas, the program will format
the information. Entries greater than $999,999.99 are rejected.
To provide information for F 1040 line 8b ( Tax exempt interest in-
come ), fill out form(s) 1099-INT and put an asterisk (*) in front of
the payers name.
If you are filling out Form 8815 to exclude interest on series EE U.S.
savings bonds, fill out a form 1099-INT for that amount and enter two

dividends from these entries on Schedule B.

screens that provide input for SCHEDULE D, PART I - SHORT-TERM CAPITAL

gambling winnings reported on Form 1040 line 22 ) must be preceded
with an asterisk (*) in the description field.

have filled out are totalled by TAXWIZZ and posted on line 54. If you
had any additional tax withheld, enter the amount on the "PAYMENTS"
form under "From other forms 1099". TAXWIZZ will add it to line 54.
VIII. (F)ORMS

transfer forms of Form 1040, Schedule A, Schedule B and Schedule D.
All data will be appropriately totalled, entered and highlighted on
the proper lines of form 1040. Deductions, exemptions, taxes and any
refund or amount you owe will be calculated and entered.

or deductions that are not allowed will not be shown or considered in
the calculations.
You can browse through the form by using the <ARROW>, <PAGE UP> or
<PAGE DOWN> keys or by placing the mouse cursor on the scroll bar in
the right margin and clicking the left button.
