1.1 INTRODUCTION
This program was created because a number of people had complained
about not being able to scroll up or down in an ANSI/ASCII file. I therefore
decided to add it to the IBBS colection of programs.
Thanks go to Thomas Bj¢rk, without whom I could never have created all
those Fossil Routines. Henrik Dahm at the Sapphire Public Network, also gets
some thanks as he testst all the IBBS routines, I create.
The program features:
■ CARRIER DETECT - if a user drops carrier, the program will
automatically terminate.
■ INACTIVITY TIMER - if a user does not press a key for more than
5 minutes, the program will automatically return
to the BBS.
■ TIMEOUT - the program continually monitors the users
timeleft counter, and if it goes below 5 minutes,
■ CLRSCR EXTRACT - the program creates a temporary file where all
ANSI ClearScreen codes () have been removed.
■ LOG FILE - The program generates a LOG file, where all major
events are registered, it should be deleted once
in a while to reduce the amount of space occupied.

1.3 REGISTRATION
We at ISoft have changed registration policy slightly. Previously it
was necessary to register each and every BBS utility. But with the release of
IBBS FILE-VIEWER v1.00 we have decided that when you register one IBBS product
you register them all. In order to register please see the accompanying file
REGISTER.TXT for details. The current price is DKK 75,- for one license, this
however can vary, according to currency and exchange rates, and I would suggest
that you write a NetMail to me at adress 2:231/339.30@FidoNet, to aquire the
latest prices.

2.1 CONTENTS OF THE ARCHIVE IVIEW100.ARJ
The following files should be contained in the archive you just
recieved:
FileName Size (bytes) Description
VIEW.EXE The Executable File.
VIEW.DOC This file, the documentation.
REGISTER.TXT The registration Form.
IBBS.LST The List of IBBS Products.
If any of these files were missing, I suggest that you call the
Sapphire Public network (2:231/339@FidoNet) Tel. +45-3672 8139 for a new copy
and possibly a new release.
New releases are announced in the NEWFILES_R23.PUB conference in the FidoNet.

3 INSTALATION
For the program to funktion optimally, it is necessary to set an
environment variableto the directory where you have located the EXE file!
In your autoexec.bat append the following line:
SET VIEWER=d:\path to VIEWER.EXE
example:
SET VIEWER=D:\RA\VIEWER
it is NOT necessary to use a trailing backslash '\'.
This results in the program will put log files to this directory, and search
this directory for key files.
3.1 SETUP UNDER USING DORINFO1.DEF (RA, SBBS)
It is quite easy to set up the viewer under BBS's which leave a file
called DORINFO1.DEF.
Go into the RA menu configuration, and set up a new option as a
type 7 menu (Call Sub-Program). With the following parameters:
VIEWER.EXE file d:\path\filname
^^^^very important command!
where VIEWER.EXE is the viewer Executeable file.
file is a parameter to tell VIEWER to use DORINFO1.DEF
d:\path\filename is the ANSI/ASCII file to view.
3.2 SETUP UNDER OTHER BBS
Here you must consider which parameters you need. See next chapter for
description of what each command does, and legal values
VIEWER.EXE /C:com /B:baud /T:timeleft /N:username /S:security d:\path\filename

4 PARAMETERS
Valid parameters for the program are:
Parameter Description Values
/C ComPort where modem is located 1..4
/B Baud Rate 38400, 19200,
Where 0 indicates that operations 9600, 4800,
are local 2400, 1200,
600, 300, 0
/T Time Left 1..32000
Where values <=5 result in the
programs direct return to the BBS,
as the minimum time left permited is
5 minutes
/N Name 27 chars
Name must be joined by an underscore
eg. KRISTINN_TOMASSON, as the surname
would otherwise be considered as a new
parameter. (Sorry...)
/S Security
This value is only used in the Status
at the bottom of the screen, and has no
other effects
file Utilise DORINFO1.DEF
(other variations: FILE, File) This
parameter tells the program to use file
DORINFO1.DEF in the BBS directory.
NOTE: if you use this command there should
not be passed any other commands to
the program as this will result in an
error.

4.1 EXAMPLES OF USE
1. VIEWER.EXE FILE NEWS.ANS
This will display NEWS.ANS using the parameters from
DORINFO.DEF
2. VIEWER.EXE /B:0 /T:12 MENU.ANS
This wil display the file MENU.ANS locally
(it is important to pass a TimeLeft value greater than 5, as
the program will otherwise return immediately )
3. VIEWER.EXE /C:2 /B:19200 /T:130 TEST.ANS
This will display the file TEST.ANS locally aswell as through
COM port 2, at 19200 baud, with a max time of 130 mins.

7 HISTORY
Program History.
v1.00 - This is the first release of the program, and marks a new era for
ISoft, where all minor BBS utilities are now sold under ONE
registration. There were naturally a couple of bugs here and there
example: the program couldn't go above 19200 baud, hehe a VERY stupid
mistake, which I won't mention here!
v1.01 - I fixed the Baudrate BUG, and now time to add a tough registration
routine (Well at least I hope it's tough, I wouldn't know). I also
fixed a few bugs reported by my testers, so I decided to increment
the next version to number v1.02
v1.02 - This version, is the one you are looking at, I added the environment
check, so the LOG file now goes to this Directory.
