What Is "Who Called"
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
"Who Called" is a simple little RemoteAccess utility for the
SysOp to see who has called the bbs today. It does not draw
ANSI screens or even save the info to a file. "Who Called"
simply shows you a screen similar to the built-in feature of
Today's Callers inside RemoteAccess.
I started running two lines on my BBS. I liked the idea of
using two different logs - one for each line - but I got
tired of reading two different logs to see who had called.
So, "Who Called" was invented. I don't know, there may be
another one out there somewhere just like this, but I wanted
to write one myself.
This program is not intended to be used on the bbs. It will
not output through the comport by itself. It is intended to
be a tool for sysops, not a replacement for the internal
listing for RA.
"Who Called" can be used with both RemoteAccess v1.11 and
2.00.g1+.
The best of all - "Who Called" is FREE!
(Please read the registration info at the bottom of this doc)

Do I Need "Who Called"
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
If you are wanting to quickly view your callers for the day
without having to log on locally or view the logs... YES!!!
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
DISCLAIMER
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
The only thing that I guarantee is that it was written by me.
It works great here and on another system that I know of but
it may not work on yours for some reason. I won't be held
responsible from any hard/software damages that you may incur
resulting from running "Who Called". (Had to say it... but
I'm sure you won't have any difficulty).
This program has been tested with DOS 5.0 and OS2 2.10

Setting Up and Running "Who Called"
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Installation and configuration is easy. Simply be sure you
have your RA environment variable set and that's it!
You do NOT have to have "Who Called" in any particular
directory, I keep it in its own directory on my system.
(If you do not know how to set your RA environment, refer to
the manual for RemoteAccess)
Now you simply type WHOCALLD and look at the screen.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Important Things To Remember
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
1. You must have the RA environment variable set.
2. You must have your system path assigned in your RA
configuration.
3. This program is not intended to replace the "Today's
Callers" feature internal to RA. Please don't make it a door
- your users will get stuck.

Support
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
I doubt if you need it, but I'll answer simple questions if
you netmail me at one of the above listed addresses. I will
be limited to routing your replies back, though. I'm not
charging for this program, so I'm not gonna spend any money
supporting it either. Like I said before, I doubt if you'll
need any help.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Registration
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Ah, I said it was free, didn't I. Well, it is. But, I would
like to know that you are using it. Take a moment and send me
netmail (just route it and save a dime) at one of the
addresses listed above.
Who knows, maybe I'll stick you on an electronic mailing list
for other goodies I'll write.
If you run "Who Called" and would like to see other little
programs like this get made, and you want to help compensate
me for the time I took to write it (actually the docs took
longer to write than the program), you can send me a donation

Acknowledgements

This program was inspired by two people. They are:
1. Andrew Milner - author of RemoteAccess.
Without his SUPER bbs program, I would have never thought
to write this <grin>. Great job Andrew! Keep up the good
work.
2. My Wife, Carolyn - author of my happiness.
She really doesn't like me sitting and playing on the
computer a lot - but she encourages me with little
ego boosters like "that looks great, Honey"...
Thanks for the support!
