  3. Logging files created during external unlock program exec-
  4. ution hold critical information which describe the actions
  5. and state of boot protection. The logging files are useful
  6. if, during external unlock program execution, an error or
  7. event occurs.

  11. 1. UNLOCK.LOG
  12.  
  13. One UNLOCK.LOG is created during the execution of the
  14. external unlock program and contains text messages which
  15. describe the actions taken and events occurred. Each message
  16. is prefaced by HDxx where xx is the hard drive number.

  18. A typical UNLOCK.LOG would be as follows :

  20. HD80: Unlocking Drive...
  21. HD80: Unlock Successful
  22.  
  23. Diagnostic messages, such as the following, will occur only
  24. as a result of errors or atypical events.

  26. HD80: Disk Read/Write Error during Unlock
  27. HD80: I/O Error @ CX:DX 1202:0C80
  28. HD80: Operator Aborted
  29. HD80: Relocking Disk Due to Read/Write Error...

  33. One of these per disk involved in the unlock, where xx is
  34. the hard disk number. Files matching this name are read
  35. at the start of program execution; if they represent an
  36. incomplete unlock operation, they can be used to complete
  37. the unlock operation.
