THE ULTIMATE QUIZ
Volume #2
MOVIES DATA DISK
Copyright © 1995 AGAS Productions
All rights reserved
Exclusively Licenced to F1 Licenceware
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
This disk should contain the official F1 LICENCEWARE Label. If it does
not, then please contact Steve at F1 in strictist confidence at:
31 Wellington Road, Exeter, Devon. EX2 9DU - Tel: 0392 493580
It is for use with THE ULTIMATE QUIZ Vol. 2 by Andy Gibson.
***********************************************************************
* IT MUST BE NAMED AS - DATA - SO DO NOT RENAME THE DISK OR FILES !!! *
***********************************************************************
Please note that there will be more DATA disks available for the above
named game and they will be available from F1 very soon.
With each NEW DATA DISK that is released, The Ultimate Quiz Vol.2 will be
transformed into a new game altogether !!! Yes, since all the music and
questions are on the DATA DISK, the game can be transformed from a POP
Quiz to a General Knowledge Quiz to a Movies Quiz etc etc etc. by just
a simple addition of a single floppy ! No nasty coding needed and thus
no major updating to the GAME DISK is required !
I will assume that since you bought this disk, you already have the
full game from F1. If so, then you will probably already have the
POP MUSIC DATA DISK that is supplied with it.
If not, then you will have to buy the game from F1 at the above address
for only £4.99 which will entitle you to two disks. GAME DISK & the POP
MUSIC DATA Disk. (The GAME DISK WILL NOT BE SOLD SEPERATELY !!!)
O.K. that's all the legal stuff out of the way, well at least as much as
I can be bothered to type anyway. (Full legal text can be found on the
GAME disk)
So you are into movies ? Well this disk is for you - 500 random questions
each with three answer options to choose from.
The questions range from easy to hard and should be challenging even to
the greatest film buffs (... And why not ... ?)
I am not a big fan of writing movie questions and I must admit that only
about 100 of these questions were written by myself ! The others were
taken from a massive ASCII file that I have on my HD which if full of
questions and answers. The file was originally supplied to me by one of
me old m8's last year. (I think he said he got it from the boards)
Sorry, but there was no mention of who sat and typed up the file !!!
(If you are reading this - please get in touch as I would love you to
help with creating more questions etc.)
The file contains thousands of questions based on various subjects. So
you may say that my job of compiling this disk was easy ! Far from it m8
All questions had to be set out in the correct format for this game. ie;
60 chars per line plus answers etc.
It took over two days to complete the compilation and that does not
include setting the answers into their correct positions !!! If you have
ever tried to compile questions with three answers, you will know just
what I'm going on about. If you haven't, then take a look at the utils on
the GAME DISK and have a go at compiling your own DATA DISK and I think
you will realize just how hard it is to come up with three convincing
answers for each question !!!
All question blocks had to be playtested and checked for errors and that
took a good few hours also ! :( Even I had to use the cheat mode to
ensure that I got all the answers correct.
(Yes there is a cheat mode in the game - I'm not gonna tell you how to
activate it though !!! It is there for playtesting purposes only and if
you were to use it - the game would not be worth playing)
If you really need to know how to activate the cheat mode, write to me
and I'll let you know. Please send a stamp for a reply though to keep
my costs down. NO STAMP = NO REPLY )
Well I think I have typed enough for this file as chances are that only
a couple of peeps will have read this far anywway !
Thanx for buying the disk and look out for more DATA DISKS in the future.
I think the KIDS DATA DISK or the POT LUCK DATA DISK will be the next one
that I work on. Oh yeah, Jim Allan is planning on releasing his great
RED DWARF DATA DISK this year - contact myself and if there is a big
enough response, Jim will be forced to spread it around. I've played it
and it is for serious smeg heads only !!! ;)
My address is: Andy Gibson 19 Hilton Terrace, Cambuslang, Glasgow. G72 8PD
If you create your own DATA DISK, please let me know of its existance.
I am willing to pay for a copy of my own or maybe swap my own DATA DISKS
for yours ! Hope to hear from you soon peeps.
Thanx again.
