- TO DO LIST INFORMATION

- Description:
-
- Use To-Do-List to keep track of your daily activities. Each day
- you can add what has to be completed, assign it a priority, and
- then sort the list by priority.

- Limitations:
-
- The only way to view archived to-do list entries is to close the
- To-Do List and then open the To-Do List Archive.
-
- Opening the To-Do List mini-app:
- -----------------------------------------------------------------
- 1. Open OS/2 System.
- 2. Open Productivity.
- 3. Open To-Do List.
-
- Creating a new To-Do List:
- -----------------------------------------------------------------
-
- 1. Select File, then select New.
- 2. Enter a priority in the first field. You can use two
- characters or digits for priority.
- 3. Enter a date or date stamp the line with the current date.
- a) To date stamp the current date on the line, select Edit;
- then select Set current date.
- b) You can also press Ctrl+C to place the current date on the
- line.
- 4. Type the name of the task and press Enter.

- NOTE: Tasks for today or earlier are shown in red; tasks to be
- done later are shown in black.

- 5. Complete the list of things that need to done.
- 7. Select File, then Save to save it.

- Sorting the To-Do List:
- ----------------------------------------------------------------
- 1. Select View, then Sort.
- 2. Select a field to sort from the First Field pushbuttons
- If you want to sort on a second and third field, select those
- fields also.
- 3. Select Yes or No in the Sort Completed Items to End of List
- field.
- 5. Select Go to begin the sort.
- 6. Select Save to store the sort selections.

- Viewing a To-Do List:

- 1. Open OS/2 System.
- 2. Open Productivity.
- 3. Open To-Do List.
- 4. Select File, then Open.
- 5. Highlighting the filename and selecting Open.

- Editing the To-Do List:
- ----------------------------------------------------------------

- 1. Place the cursor on the line you want to edit.
- 2. Select Edit, then select option.
- - Undo cancels the previous action.
- - Cut moves highlighted text
- - Copy duplicates highlighted text.
- - Paste places the text in the new location.
- - Clear erases the information.
- - Delete removes the entire line.
- - Insert line after inserts a line after the line the cursor
- is on.
- - Insert line before inserts a line before the line the
- cursor is on.
- - Graphics lets you to place a picture at the current
- cursor position.
- - Set date to current date changes the date
- to the current date.

- Using Mark to Archive To-Do List Entries:
- ----------------------------------------------------------------

- 1. Place cursor on the line you want to mark.
- 2. Select Mark, then select action.
- - Mark current item as completed
- - Mark item and date stamp
- - Mark item & add line to archive
- - Add line to archive then delete
- - Unmark line
- - Archive all completed lines
- - Archive all completed lines then delete

- Printing the To-Do List:
- ----------------------------------------------------------------

- 1. Select File, then Print.
- 2. Select a destination.
- - Select Printer to print the file, then select a
- printer.
- - Select Spool file to save a printable version of your
- file that you can print later.
- The information is saved in OS2\APPS\PMDSPOOL.$$$
- 3. Select Print.

- To-Do List Archive
- ----------------------------------------------------------------

- Description:
-
- Use To-Do List Archive to work with your stored entries. You can
- print the archive file, sort the archive file and view specific
- archived entries.

- To view a specific entry:
-
- 1. Select Edit, then Find.
- 2. Type in a string of text in the entry field.
- 3. Select Search to locate the desired text in the archive file.
-
- To sort the archive entries:
-
- 1. Select View, then Sort.
- 2. Select a radio buttons in the First Field group.
- 3. Select Go to use the selected sort fields, sort the archive
- file, and remove the window from the screen.
- 4. Select Save to store the selected sort fields.

- Printing the to-do list archive is the same as printing the to-do
- list.
