  11. PROCEDURES:

  13. I.   Gathering Process and Thread information.
  14.  
  15.   1. Make a new directory:
  16.  
  17.      MD C:\PD_DATA
  18.  
  19.   2. Type:
  20.      PSTAT > C:\PD_DATA\PSTAT.TXT
  21.  
  22. II.  Gathering hardware and system configuration information.
  23.  
  24.   1. Open the OS/2 System Folder.
  25.  
  26.   2. Open the System Setup Folder in the OS/2 System Folder.
  27.  
  28.   3. Open the System Information Tool in the System Setup Folder.
  29.     (If the System Information Tool is not in this folder, install
  30.      it from the Bonus Pack.)
  31.  
  32.   4. Select File on the main menu.
  33.  
  34.   5. Select Print All System Data to a File on the File menu.
  35.      Use the file name: C:\PD_DATA\SYSINFO.RPT

  37.   6. Select OK.

  39. III. Gathering information about DOS and Windows programs.
  40.  
  41.   1. From ALL DOS or WIN-OS/2 Session, open the Settings notebook
  42.      for the program.
  43.  
  44.   2. Select the Session tab.
  45.  
  46.   3. Select the DOS or WIN-OS/2 Settings button.
  47.  
  48.   4. Select All Settings,  then select OK.
  49.  
  50.   5. Select Print.
  51.  
  52.   6. Select Print to encoded file, use file name:
  53.             C:\PD_DATA\{name}.DST.
  54.             {name} = any valid filename.
  55.      Use a different name for each DOS Session.
  56.  
  57.   7. Select OK to print the file.
  58.  
  59. IV.  Collecting any other relevant information.
  60.  
  61.      If possible, create a README.1ST text file describing any
  62.      special circumstances and steps for recreating the problem.
  63.      Include symptoms or issues that may be related. For example,
  64.      hard disk is contantly being used, problem occurs
  65.      after loading a particular application, problem occured after
  66.      upgrading hardware, problem occured after changing to high-
  67.      resolution video mode, etc.

  70. You can send the information to IBM 3 ways.
  71.  
  72. 1. Upload the file to 407-443-8000 to library 13.   You need to
  73.    use PKZIP to compress all files in c:\PD_DATA directory into
  74.    one file.  Use the PMR#.ZIP as the name.  You can use other
  75.    compression utilities,  but the file MUST be self-extracting.
  76.    If you do not have PKZIP, you can download it from the IBM PC
  77.    BBS at (919)517-0001.  The name is PKZ204G.EXE.

  79. 2. Mail files in C:\PD_DATA on diskette to:
  80.       IBM
  81.       1000 NW 51st. St.
  82.       Boca Raton, FL 33432
  83.       Internal Zip 1020
  84.       ATTN: Dennis Riddlemoser, Scott Bell or Ed Sasonne

  86. 3. Fax the information.  Faxing the information is strongly
  87.    discouraged because it is about 20 to 30 pages and will be
  88.    difficult to review in this form.  If you must fax, send
  89.    the information to (407)443-6940. Include the PMR# on the fax.
