- DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS:

- Run DSPINSTL and when svga.exe executes the system will
- hang.

- SUMMARY OF RESOLUTIONS:

- Verify that your hardware along with OS/2 will support svga
- resolution. If so, then install svga video drivers using
- an alternate procedure.

- DETAILS OF RESOLUTION:
-
- 1. Verify that your hardware along with OS/2 will support
- svga resolution.
- 2. Boot from the DOS partition or a DOS
- bootable diskette.
- 3. Execute SVGA ON DOS from the prompt.
- 4. Validate the contents of SVGADATA.DOS such as the total
- memory detected, etc.
- 5. Boot OS/2.
- 6. Copy the SVGADATA.DOS FILE to the OS2 directory on
- the OS2 boot drive.
- 7. Rename or copy the SVGADATA.DOS to SVGADATA.PMI.
- 8. Now execute RSPDSPI.EXE:

- RSPDSPI /PK:SVGA /SK:NONE /S:A: /T:C:\ /MC:8

- /S:A: - this is the source diskette drive /T:C:\ - root
- directory of the OS/2 boot drive /MC:8 - manufacturers code
