  1. OS22025.FAX            SYS2025 AND SYS2027 ERRORS DURING INSTALL

  4.           SYS2025 & SYS2027 on the Installation
  5. ================================================================
  6. Getting SYS02025 and SYS02027 on the installation diskette.  Make
  7. a DISKCOPY of Installation Diskette and try installing with copy.
  8.  
  9. Check if customer swapped their floppy drives without updating
  10. their CMOS.  Setting the CMOS correctly will allow installation
  11. to complete without getting the SYS02025 and SYS02027.
  12.  
  13. FOR OEM system:  
  14.     It is recommended to disable TURBO, CACHE, and SHADOW RAM.
  15.     (Packard Bell system need not disable features.)
  16.     Disconnect devices: tapeback ups, network cards, scanners,etc
  17.     After installation is completed, enable all feature and
  18.     reconnect devices.

  20. SYS02025 and SYS02027 on OEM with PHOENIX bios 1.03 on OS/2 2.1
  21.                        Install Diskette.
  22. =================================================================
  23. Work around:
  24. 1) Make backup copy of OS/2 2.1 Install diskette.
  25. 2) Del OS2LDR       /* from backup diskette */
  26.    Del OS2BOOT      /* from backup diskette */
  27. 3) Copy OS2LDR      /* from original to backup */
  28.    Copy OS2BOOT     /* from original to backup */
  29. The SYS02025 and SYS02027 errors have also been found when the
  30. user swaps the floppy drive cables without updating CMOS.
  31. Updating CMOS corrects the problem (3.5 and 5.25 cable swap).
  32.  
  33. NOTE: A tool is available on the Raleigh BBS and Compuserve that
  34.       allows you to install OS/2 2.1 from the B drive, when B
  35.       drive is 3.5 and and A drive is 5.25 and the diskettes are
  36.       3.5.  This utility is called:
  37.  
  38.      INST21L (if you have BLUE labels on your disks)
  39.      INST21M (if you have SALMON or GREEN label on your disks)
