  3.         TITLE: 940426 CANNOT RUN CBT UNDER THIS OPERATING SYSTEM
  4.                IN EXCEL 5.0 FOR WINDOWS TUTORIAL
  5.                CBT COULD NOT BE EXECUTED ERROR OCCURS
  6.  
  7.         DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS:
  8.         Using tutorial for Excel 5.0, CBT could not be executed
  9.         error occurs.
  10.  
  11.         SUMMARY OF RESOLUTION:
  12.         1.  Using an editor open the file SETUP.STF and change
  13.             line 115 so that it reads:
  14.             115    Yes    Depend   114 ? 117 1266 : 117 1266
  15.             us     Yes    D:\EXCEL\
  16.         2.  Start a WIN-OS/2 fullscreen session and run the EXCEL
  17.             SETUP and chose REINSTALL. After install is
  18.             finished EXCEL CBT will be installed and ready to run.
  19.         3.  Using an editor edit the CBTDIRECTORY= line in the
  20.             EXCEL5.INI file in the WINOS2 or Windows directory so
  21.             that it references where the CBT files are stored
  22.             (X:\EXCEL\EXCELCBT).
  23.         4.  Similar problem occurs in Word for Windows 6.0 and is
  24.             addressed in PDDB CNZXS and APAR PJ11665.

  26.         DETAILS OF RESOLUTION:
  27.         1.  From command prompts folder open an OS2 Window 
  28.             session.
  29.           a.  Change to the \EXCEL\SETUP directory on a local
  30.               install or to the \EXCEL on a network install by
  31.               typing: CD EXCEL\SETUP or CD EXCEL then press
  32.               <Enter>
  33.           b.  Open SETUP.STF using the E editor by typing: E
  34.               SETUP.STF then press <Enter>
  35.           c.  Change line 115 so that it reads:
  36.               115   Yes   Depend   114 ? 117 1266 : 117 1266
  37.               us    Yes   D:\EXCEL\
  38.           d.  Save changes to the SETUP.STF file.
  39.         2.  Start WIN-OS/2 fullscreen session and run EXCEL SETUP
  40.             from the icon. Chose the REINSTALL selection
  41.             and when install is finished EXCEL CBT will be
  42.             installed and ready to run.
  43.         3.  Using the same OS2 Window session.
  44.           a.  Change to the WINOS2 or Windows directory by typing:
  45.               CD OS2\MDOS\WINOS2 or CD WINDOWS
  46.               then press <Enter>
  47.           b.  Open the file (EXCEL5.INI) using the E editor by
  48.               typing: E EXCEL5.INI then press <Enter>
  49.           c.  Verify line CBTDIRECTORY= points to
  50.               X:\EXCEL\EXCELCBT where X: is the drive
  51.               where EXCEL resides.
  52.             (i.e. CBTDIRECTORY=C:\EXCEL\EXCELCBT)
  53.           d.  Save changes to the EXCEL5.INI file and close E
  54.               editor.
  55.         4.  Restart Excel 5.0 for Windows and run the tutorial.
