  5. RESTORING SVGA AFTER APPLYING SERVICE PAK XR06300

  11. 1.   Start the system and go to the OS/2 Desktop.  Open an OS/2
  12.      window or full screen and type:
  13.  
  14.             C:\OS2\INSTALL.
  15.             (C: is drive where OS/2 is located)
  16.  
  17. 2.   Service Pack with Diskettes:
  18.  
  19.      a. At C:\OS2\INSTALL type:
  20.          RSPDSPI /PK:VGA /SK:NONE /S:A:\ /S:C:
  21.  
  22.      b. Insert display diskette 1 from service pack in
  23.         drive A: and press Enter.
  24.      c. Follow the prompts on the screen.
  25.  
  26.      Service Pack with CD-ROM:
  27.  
  28.      a. At C:\OS2\INSTALL type:
  29.      RSPDSPI /PK:VGA /SK:NONE /S:\Y:\SPZ629\ /T:C:
  30.  
  31.        note:Y: is the CD-ROM drive letter.
  32.        c: is os2 boot drive.
  33.  
  34. 3.  Go the OS2 sub-directory. If SVGADATA.PMI and SVGADATA.ERR
  35.     are there, delete them.
  36.  
  37. 4.  Perform shutdown and restart the system.
  38.  
  39. 5.  Open an OS/2 session and create a temporary directory.  Type:
  40.        MD TEMP and press Enter.
  41.  
  42. 6.  Insert system diskette 1 from OS/2 for Windows G, not
  43.     the service pack and type:
  44.  
  45.        C:UNPACK A:BUNDLE C:\TEMP and press Enter.
  46.        CD TEMP and press Enter.
  47.        COPY PSXXX.DSC C:\OS2\INSTALL\*.*  and press Enter.

  49.        NOTE:xxx is the name of video chipset.
  50.  
  51.        If you have 5 1/4 diskettes, use system diskette 2.
  52.  
  53. 7.  Do selective install for SVGA using OS/2 for Windows GA.
  54.  
  55. 8.  Open OS/2 System icon.
  56. 9.  Open system setup icon.
  57. 10. Open selective install icon.
  58. 11. Select Primary Display and select OK.
  59. 12. Select "Super VGA Array (svga) and select OK.
  60. 13. Select OK on the next screen.
  61. 14. Select Install.
  62. 15. For Source Directory:
  63.        a. With diskettes, select Install and follow the prompts
  64.           on the screen.
  65.        b. With CD-ROM, select the Change push button, select
  66.           OS2SE21 sub- directory,  then select Install.
  67.           NOTE: Anwser "yes" to all questions.
  68.  
  69. 16. Perform shutdown and restart the system.
  70. 17. Apply service pack again. This only updates some video
  71.     related files.
