  12. The tune editor is a music editor for arranging simplistic, one
  13. voice compisitions on bass and treble clefs.
  14.  
  15. Features:

  17.   Three octaves total range in half steps:
  18.     Changes using pitch bar / up and down arrows.
  19.  
  20.   Tempos from 1 to 300:
  21.     Changes using tempo bar.
  22.  
  23.   Using up to 20 notes or rests:
  24.     Switch between notes with note bar /left and right arrows
  25.  
  26.   To change notes or rests from whole to 1/32 in half increments:
  27.     Changes made using value bar.
  28.  
  29.   To Insert notes or rests:
  30.     Use  Ctrl+I
  31.  
  32.   To save tunes in PMDiary format:
  33.     Type:  .$$A

  37. Limitations:

  39. Tune Editor is limited to:
  40.        20 notes and rests, regardless of length.
  41.        Flats only, no sharps.

  47. Composing and using a tune as an alarm for PMDiary.  Tune editor
  48. saves files in a format compatible with alarm sounds for PMDiary.
  49. The default alarm is the file  PMDIARY.$$A

  51. Renaming the default alarm tune:

  53.   1.  Open the OS/2 System folder.
  54.   2.  Open the Command Prompts folder.
  55.   3.  Open OS/2 Window.
  56.   4.  Enter these lines
  57.         CD  \OS2\APPS
  58.         REN PMDIARY.$$A DEF_ALM.$$A.
  59.   5.  Press Alt+F4 to close the OS/2 Window.
  60.   6.  Press Alt+F4 to close the Command Prompts folder.

  62. Opening the Tune Editor to compose a tune:

  64.   1.  Open the Productivity folder.
  65.   2.  Open Tune Editor.
  66.   3.  Compose tune using controls listed in Functionality.

  68. Saving a tune:

  70.   1.  Select File from menu bar.
  71.   2.  Select Save As from the pull down menu.
  72.   3.  Select Save As filename:
  73.         Type:  PMDIARY.$$A
  74.   4.  Select Save.
  75.   5.  Press Alt+F4 to close.

  77. Set alarm in PMDiary and your tune plays as the alarm.
