  5.           5.25" CD-ROM INSTALLATION FOR WARP
  6. ================================================================

  8. Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures

  10. For system with a 5.25" 1.2 MB A: drive and a supported CD-ROM.
  11. This allows OS/2 WARP to start from the 5.25" drive and install
  12. using Easy Install or Advance Install to a non-HPFS partition.

  15. NOTE: You need two 5.25" diskettes for this procedure.
  16. Label one OS/2 WARP 525 CD DISK 0 and the other OS/2 WARP 525 CD
  17. DISK 1.
  18.  
  19.  
  20. 1.  Start the system from DOS.
  21.  
  22. 2.  Insert the 525 CD DISK 1 into Drive A:. From the C:\> prompt,
  23.     type:
  24.             FORMAT A: /U and press Enter
  25.  
  26. 3.  When prompted for the volume label, type:
  27.             DISK 1 and press Enter.
  28.  
  29. 4.  From the C:\> prompt, type pressing Enter after each:
  30.         MD CDINST
  31.         CD CDINST
  32.         MD DISK0
  33.         MD DISK1
  34.         CD DISK1
  35.  
  36. 5.  Insert the 3.5" WARP DISK 1 in Drive B.  Type the following,
  37.     pressing Enter after each:
  38.         COPY B:\*.*
  39.         DEL IBM2*.*
  40.         DEL CLOCK02.SYS
  41.         DEL SCREEN02.SYS
  42.         DEL PRINT02.SYS
  43.         DEL TEDIT.*
  44.         DEL PRINT01.SYS
  45.         DEL HPFS.IFS

  48. 6.  Insert the 3.5" WARP Install diskette in drive B: and type:
  49.       COPY B:\LMS205.ADD and press Enter.
  50.  
  51. 7.  Using an editor, edit C:\CDINST\DISK1\CONFIG.SYS
  52.     Put REM before the each of following lines:
  53.         IFS=HPFS.IFS /C:64
  54.         BASEDEV=PRINT01.SYS
  55.         BASEDEV=IBM2FLPY.ADD
  56.         BASEDEV=IBM2ADSK.ADD
  57.         BASEDEV=IBM2SCSI.ADD
  58.  
  59. 8.  Below the line BASEDEV=LMS206.ADD, add the line:
  60.         BASEDEV=LMS205.ADD
  61.  
  62. 9.  Save the file and exit the editor.
  63.  
  64. 10. Copy the entire directory to the 525 CD DISK 1 in the A:
  65.     drive.
  66.         COPY *.* A:\ and press Enter.
  67.  
  68. 11. Insert the 525 CD DISK 0 in Drive A: and from the prompt,
  69.     type:
  70.         FORMAT A: /U and press Enter.
  71.  
  72. 12. When prompted for the volume label, type:
  73.         DISK 0 and press Enter.
  74.  
  75. 13. Type the following, pressing Enter after each.
  76.         CD..
  77.         CD DISK0
  78.         COPY B:\*.*
  79.         DEL BUNDLE
  80.  
  81. 14. Type:
  82.         DEBUG and press Enter.
  83.  
  84. 15. From the - prompt, type the following, pressing Enter after
  85.     each:
  86.  
  87.         L DS:0 1 0 1
  88.         E 13 60
  89.         E 14 09
  90.         E 15 F9
  91.         E 16 07
  92.         E 18 0F
  93.         W DS:0 0 0 1
  94.         Q
  95.  
  96.         COPY *.* A:\
  97.  
  98. 16. Remove the WARP Installation diskette from drive B: and
  99.     restart the system to begin the install.

  101. 17. Insert OS/2 WARP 525 CD DISK 1 when prompted to insert DISK
  102.     1 and follow the prompts.
  103.  
  104.     Select Easy or Advanced Installation.
  105.  
  106. NOTE: If using Advanced Install, do NOT choose to format HPFS.
