  11. If you notice "slow performance" running programs written
  12. for Microsoft Windows Versions 3.0 and 3.1 you can change some
  13. DOS settings as follows:
  14.  
  15.  
  16.   1. Display the pop-up menu for the Windows program object.
  17.  
  18.   2. Select the arrow to the right of OPEN; then select SETTINGS.
  19.  
  20.   3. Select SESSION.
  21.  
  22.   4. Select the WIN-OS/2 settings push button.
  23.  
  24.   5. Highlight the following in the SETTING menu and change them
  25.      as follows:
  26.  
  27.             DOS HIGH = ON
  28.             DOS FILE = 50 (default is 20)
  29.             DPMI MEM LIMIT = 32 or 64 (default is 0-4)
  30.             HW ROM to RAM = ON (default is Off)
  31.             IDLE SECONDS = 60 (default is 0)
  32.             IDLE SENSITIVITY = 100 (default is 75)

  34.   6. Select SAVE.
