  49. Telix is a full-featured communications program for PCs  running the PC/MS-DOS
  50. operating system, that is able to meet the needs of almost any user. Telix
  51. features include:
  52.  
  53.      - an extensive range of built-in file transfer  protocols,
  54.        including Zmodem, Compuserve Quick B, Xmodem, Xmo-
  55.        dem-1k, Xmodem-1k-g, Ymodem (TRUE), Ymodem-g, Kermit,
  56.        SEAlink, Telink, Modem7, and ASCII. Telix allows up  to
  57.        four 'external' protocols to be defined and called  from
  58.        within Telix. In this way, almost any kind of file
  59.        transfer is possible from within Telix.
  60.  
  61.      - powerful multiple dialing directories, holding up to
  62.        1000 entries each. An entry contains many pieces of  in-
  63.        formation required for communicating with remote ser-
  64.        vices, such as the phone number and communications  pa-
  65.        rameters.
  66.  
  67.      - automatic queue redialing for hard-to-reach numbers.
  68.  
  69.      - DEC VT102 and VT52 terminal emulation. Keys may be  re-
  70.        defined by the user.
  71.  
  72.      - extensive SALT script language which allows Telix to
  73.        perform automated logons and many more complicated
  74.        functions. AS an example of the power of script  files,
  75.        the Telix Host Mode is written in the SALT script  lan-
  76.        guage.

  78.      - full access to DOS including a DOS shell, a DOS  Command
  79.        option, and full path support.
  80.  
  81.      - A Host Mode with file transfers, operator paging, a  Re-
  82.        mote DOS shell, and two access levels.
  83.  
  84.      - A Chat Mode, keyboard macros, a scroll-back buffer,
  85.        session capture, usage log, translate table, and a  va-
  86.        riety of other features, detailed in this manual.  Above
  87.        all however, Telix is FAST, and has powerful,  friendly,
  88.        user interface..

  90.              The Telix Philosophy

  92. When Telix was written, a basic idea was kept in mind. It  was
  93. felt that a powerful program could be simple to operate,  with
  94. no loss of speed in order to achieve this ease of use.

  96. Hardware requirements: a Hayes compatible modem; 160 K of  free 
  97. RAM in your PC.
