Golden CommPass 2.0E
====================
Thank you for trying this special demonstration version of Golden
CommPass. Golden CommPass is the ONLY CompuServe navigation program
that is specifically designed to work in conjunction with OS/2.
Creative Systems Programming Corporation is making this special
demonstration version of Golden CommPass(tm) available to CompuServe
Information Service users that are interested in experimenting with a
native OS/2 application for accessing CompuServe.
We hope that by making this demonstration version available, you will
be able to evaluate the usefulness of a completely automatic OS/2
CompuServe navigation program. The evaluation period for this program
is limited to 30 days.
This demonstration program contains all of the features of the
complete Golden CommPass program, except that it has been limited to
accessing CompuServe forums that begin with either IBM or OS2.

Installation
============
This special demonstration version of Golden CommPass is distributed
as a single self-extracting PKZIP file. The name of the file is
COMPAS.EXE.
When you run this program, the files listed below will be created.
All of these files are required for the proper execution of Golden
CommPass.
COMMPASS.EXE Golden CommPass Message Reader Program
COMMPASS.DLL Common Dynamic Link Library
COMMPCOM.DLL Communications Engine
COMMPCIS.DLL CompuServe Scripts
COMMPASS.HLP Message Reader help
COMMPCOM.HLP Communications Engine help
COMMPASS.INI Initialization file (for customization)
CONFIG.SCR CompuServe configuration script
In addition, the following files containing Golden CommPass
documentation and information will be created.
SOFTWARE.USE Golden CommPass software usage agreement
README.MSG Additional info on the offline message reader
READCOMM.MSG Additional info on the communications engine
COMMPASS.DOC Complete Documentation for Golden CommPass
Finally, several script files (*.SCR) have been included to customize
the Golden CommPass signon process if you are signing onto CompuServe
through an external network.
These programs should be copied to a separate directory on your hard
disk.
Dynamic Link Libraries
----------------------
After you have decompressed these files (by executing each one from
the OS/2 command prompt), you need to make sure that the Dynamic Link
Libraries (DLL) are properly installed and OS/2 can locate them.
There are 3 DLLs that must be installed in a directory pointed to by
the OS/2 LIBPATH statement in your CONFIG.SYS. You may want to
consider adding .; to the beginning of your LIBPATH statement. This
will force OS/2 to search the current directory for the DLL first.
For example:
LIBPATH=.;\OS2\DLL ...
Golden CommPass Initialization File
-----------------------------------
The COMMPASS.INI file should be placed in the same directory as
COMMPASS.EXE, however, the DPATH environment variable will also be
searched to locate this file.
Golden CommPass Help File
-------------------------
The COMMPASS.HLP file should also be placed in the same directory as
COMMPASS.EXE, The HELP environment variable will also be searched to
locate this file.
We hope you enjoy your Golden CommPass trial run!
