ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. About pkeditpm ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This version of pkeditpm is a betatest version. Several features are missing,
such as simple navigating through the font file, clipboard, etc. These features
are planned for future versions.
pkeditpm is an editor for PK font files. You can edit existing PK files.
pkeditpm has been designed for improving existing PK files. Creating new PK
files from scratch is not possible. Moreover, you cannot enlarge characters
(that is, you cannot draw outside the original bitmap).
You can load a font file on startup by giving the name of the font file on the
command line. There is no default extension.
After loading a font file (see Open), the first entry of that file is
displayed. There are four types of entries:
o PK file header. Currently no information is displayed for this entry, no
changes can be made.
o Character bitmap. You can set or clear pixels with the mouse. If you press
the first mouse button when the mouse cursor points to a clear (white) pixel,
pixels are set while you keep the mouse button pressed. If you press the
first mouse button when the mouse cursor points to a set (black) pixel,
pixels are cleared while you keep the mouse button pressed. If you move the
mouse too quickly, pixels are skipped. If the character doesn't fit into the
window, you can use the scrollbars to move the window contents.
o xxx. An xxx entry is created by the `special' command of METAFONT. Currently
no information is displayed for an xxx entry, no changes can be made.
o yyy. A yyy entry is created by the `numspecial' command of METAFONT.
Currently no information is displayed for a yyy entry, no changes can be
made.

changes. To accept the state selected with the scrollbar, select the OK
