World Health Organization Gets Connected
by Shunichi AKAZAWA* <akazawa@who.arcom.ch>
The Information Technology Office of the World Health Organization (WHO)
recently connected to the Internet, and is embarking on a broad array
of activities. It is operating a router at WHO headquarters in Geneva
and connected via a 64kbps digital link to the CERN (European Cenre for High
Energy and Particle Physics) European Hub. A primary Domain Name Server
is expected to be configured the week of 25 January 1993 - a workstation
donated by DEC. The WHO IP network address is 158.232.0.0, with a domain
name <who.ch>.
