  17. I have been active in the computer networking field since 1976 when I 
  18. went to work for the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment, an 
  19. early ARPANET site.  I have been with Interop Company since shortly 
  20. after its formation in 1987, acting as Editor and Publisher of 
  21. ConneXions---The Interoperability Report, a monthly technical journal 
  22. in the field of computer-communications, published by Interop 
  23. Company. I am also the Senior Technical Director for Interop, working 
  24. on conference program development for the various Interop events
  25. around the world. I also serve on the program committees for the Joint 
  26. European Networking Conference (JENC) and the Asia Pacific Regional 
  27. Internet Conference on Operational Technologies (APRICOT).

  29. I hold a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Computing Science from 
  30. the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

  32. I believe the ISOC's mission should be to serve as wide an audience 
  33. as possible, and I support the idea of a new membership drive. I 
  34. would like to see ISOC become the natural place of contact for all 
  35. those seeking information about the Internet. I have served on the 
  36. Advisory Board for 3 years and have a good understanding of its 
  37. workings.
