  25. Description of Working Group:

  27.     TP/IX is a new version of the IP, TCP, and UDP protocols, to
  28.     advance the Internet technology to the scale and performance of
  29.     the next generation of internetwork technology. TP/IX has been
  30.     assigned the IP version number 7.
  31.  
  32.     The working group is chartered to review the TP/IX and RAP
  33.     protocols, evaluate issues arising during product development
  34.     and deployment planning, and to document problems and
  35.     explanations for any parts of the coexistance with IPv4 not
  36.     covered directly in the TP/IX-IPv4 interoperation design.
  37.  
  38.     The group will also be the initial forum for development of the RAP
  39.     protocol while it is experimental; this work will need to be moved
  40.     to the Routing Area when it is to be advanced.

  42.  Goals and Milestones:

  44.      Done       Present the TP/IX (formerly IPv7) and the RAP protocols to the 
  45.                 IETF Plenary.

  47.      Done       Post the TP/IX Protocol and the RAP protocol as Experimental 
  48.                 RFCs.

  50.      Done       Hold Working Group meeting to discuss additional definitions.  
  51.                 Prepare criteria to be met prior to standardization.

  53.      Done       Hold Working Group meeting to evaluate the TP/IX and RAP 
  54.                 protocols for Proposed Standard.

  56.    Dec 93       Submit the TP/IX and RAP Protocols to the IESG for
