  34. The Triggered RIP Internet Drafts and the RIPng Internet Draft have been
  35. approved by the IESG for publication as Proposed Standards and are
  36. awaiting action by the RFC editor.
  37.  
  38. The group is happy with the RIP-2 Internet Draft.  The only suggestion
  39. was to insert a line of text which indicates that unicast packets
  40. should be sent on NBMA networks instead of multicast.  This change
  41. parallels a similar change to OSPF.  The chair requested implementation
  42. information.  While there are certainly sufficient implementations and
  43. operational experience of the protocol, some questions remain over the
  44. various MIB objects.  Once the implementors have provided the information,
  45. all of the RIP-2 documents will be submitted to the IESG for consideration
  46. as full Standards.

  48. After the IESG approved the Cryptographic Authentication Internet Draft
  49. and submitted it to the RFC Editor, a problem was found.  The resolution
  50. requires the insertion of a single sentdence which basically states that
  51. sequence numbers should be time based and never zero.  Fred Baker will
  52. make this change and re-submit the document to the IESG for a quick
  53. re-approval.

  55. Some modifications need to be made to the charter.  More specifically,
  56. the milestones need to be updated as follows:
