  3. Internet School Networkiing WG
  4. Monday, June 24, 1996

  6. Internet School Networking (ISN) session, chaired by Jodi Ito, minutes 
  7. taken by Joyce Reynolds, was called to order at 7:30, with a welcome to 
  8. attendees and providing the ISN mailing list pointer. The update to 
  9. FYI 22 - FAQ for Schools was published as an Informational RFC 
  10. (FYI22, RFC1941). The ISN web site has been moved to: 
  11. http://campus.merit.net/iswg. Attendees were asked to review the site 
  12. and provide comments to Pat Smith (psmith@merit.edu) or Jodi 
  13. (jodi@hawaii.edu).

  15. Then attendees were asked to introduce themselves and describe their 
  16. interest/participation in K12.
  17.  
  18. Next on the agenda was a discussion of should ISN keep going or shut 
  19. down. The list of potential "new projects" to work on included: Sepi's 
  20. help desk support documents, guidelines for putting together request for 
  21. proposals when soliciting ISPs, and dissemination of information to the 
  22. education community regarding FYIs and RFCs (possible suggestions 
  23. included fax-back service, printed/book-type publications, CD Rom, 
  24. etc.). Also mentioned was the need for a "security" type document for K-
  25. 12. It was suggested that the group look at the Site Security Handbook 
  26. for Users being put together by the SSH working group. After the very 
  27. lively discussion, the meeting adjorned at 8:45.
