  6. Minutes of the Benchmarking Methodology Working Group (BMWG)
  7.  
  8. Twenty-eight people attended the meeting.
  9.  
  10. Scott Bradner opened the meeting with an announcement that Jim McQuaid
  11. is the new BMWG Working Group Chair.  Scott then gave an overview of the
  12. working group's activities and briefly reviewed the contents of the two
  13. working documents.  He mentioned that both documents are available from
  14. hsdndev.harvard.edu in the pub/bmwg directory.

  16. The subject of adding modems and methods for testing bridges and routers
  17. to the document was brought up.  It was thought that adding modems would
  18. be straightforward.
  19.  
  20. The attendees then discussed the charter at some length, reviewing
  21. aspects of the work which was done and the work which needed to be
  22. addressed in the future.  The revised ``goals and milestones'' section
  23. of the charter will be changed to reflect the future work of the BMWG
  24. Working Group.
  25.  
  26. A survey of articles on benchmarking methodologies as well as research
  27. being done in this area will be conducted and reported on at the next
  28. meeting.
