Minutes
-------
1. The minutes of the April 11 Meeting were approved. Steve to place
in IETF Shadow directories.
2. The IESG deferred action on the Transmission of IPv6 Packets over
FDDI Networks and Token Ring Networks, as more time for discussion
and evaluation is necessary.
3. The IESG decided to return Definition of X.500 Attribute Types and
an Object Class to Hold Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs)
<draft-ietf-asid-x500-url-02.txt> to the working group for text
changes (primarily editorial or to clarify certain sections) and
requested a revised Internet-Draft be submitted. No second last
call is required; the document action is placed On-Hold.
4. The IESG approved publication of An LDAP URL Format
<draft-ietf-asid-ldap-format-03.txt> as a Proposed Standard.
5. The IESG also approved publication of A String Representation of
LDAP Search Filters <draft-ietf-asid-string-filter-01.txt> as a
Proposed Standard, but with a change to Section 4. Specifically,
change from:
If a <value> must contain one of the characters '*' or
'(' or ')', these characters should be escaped by preceding
them with the backslash '\' character.
to
If a <value> must contain one of the characters '*' or '('
or ')' or '\', these characters should be escaped by preceding
them with the backslash '\' character.
The Protocol Action announcement will be appended to include the
above change as a Note to the RFC Editor. The note will also state
that the document author agrees with the change.
6. The IESG approved publication of A DNS RR for specifying the
location of services (DNS SRV)
<draft-gulbrandsen-dns-rr-srvcs-03.txt> as an Experimental
Protocol.
7. The IESG had no problem with the publication of Native ATM Support
in the Internet <draft-rfced-info-jackowski-00.txt>, but request the
document title be changed to "Native ATM support for ST2+"
8. The IESG had no problem with the publication of Greek Character
Encoding for Electronic Mail Messages
<draft-rfced-info-spinellis-02.txt> as an Informational RFC.
9. The IESG briefly discussed Guidelines for IETF Meeting Sites
<draft-prior-future-host-guidelines-01.txt> that was submitted for
publication as a BCP RFC. Action was deferred for further
discussion. It was noted that this document should be published as
an Informational document and should include an IESG note stating
that the document is an opinion of the authors and does not reflect
the opinion of the IETF.
Fred is to send a message to the authors.
