  18. The purpose of this document is to describe coexistence between
  19. version 2 of the Internet-standard Network Management Framework,
  20. termed the SNMP version 2 framework (SNMPv2), and the original
  21. Internet-standard Network Management Framework (SNMPv1).  This is a
  22. product of the SNMP Version 2 Working Group and the SNMP Security
  23. Working Group of the IETF.

  25. This is now a Proposed Standard Protocol.

  27. This RFC specifes an IAB standards track protocol for the Internet
  28. community, and requests discussion and suggestions for improvements.
  29. Please refer to the current edition of the "IAB Official Protocol
  30. Standards" for the standardization state and status of this protocol.
  31. Distribution of this memo is unlimited.

  33. This announcement is sent to the IETF list and the RFC-DIST list.
  34. Requests to be added to or deleted from the IETF distribution list
