  19. The Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) provides a standard method for
  20. transporting multi-protocol datagrams over point-to-point links.  PPP
  21. defines an extensible Link Control Protocol, and proposes a family of
  22. Network Control Protocols for establishing and configuring different
  23. network-layer protocols.  This document defines the Network Control
  24. Protocol for establishing and configuring the Xerox Network Systems
  25. (XNS) Internet Datagram Protocol (IDP) over PPP.  This RFC is the
  26. product of the Point-to-Point Protocol Extensions Working Group of the
  27. IETF.

  29. This is now a Proposed Standard Protocol.

  31. This document specifies an Internet standards track protocol for the
  32. Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for
  33. improvements.  Please refer to the current edition of the "Internet
