  16. The Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) provides a standard method for
  17. transporting multi-protocol datagrams over point-to-point links.  This
  18. document describes the use of X.25 for framing PPP encapsulated
  19. packets.  This document is the product of the Point-to-Point Protocol
  20. Extensions Working Group of the Internet Engineering Task Force
  21. (IETF).

  23. This is now a Proposed Standard Protocol.

  25. This document specifies an Internet standards track protocol for the
  26. Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for
  27. improvements.  Please refer to the current edition of the "Internet
  28. Official Protocol Standards" (STD 1) for the standardization state and
  29. status of this protocol.  Distribution of this memo is unlimited.
