  15. The Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) provides a standard method for
  16. transporting multi-protocol datagrams over point-to-point links.  This
  17. document describes the use of HDLC for framing PPP encapsulated
  18. packets.  This document is the product of the Point-to-Point Protocol
  19. Working Group of the IETF.

  21. This is now a Draft Standard Protcol.
  22.  
  23. This document specifies an Internet standards track protocol for the
  24. Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for
  25. improvements.  Please refer to the current edition of the "Internet
  26. Official Protocol Standards" (STD 1) for the standardization state and
  27. status of this protocol.  Distribution of this memo is unlimited.
