  15. This document describes a method for compressing the headers of IPX
  16. datagrams (CIPX).  With this method, it is possible to significantly
  17. improve performance over lower speed wide area network (WAN) media.
  18. For normal IPX packet traffic, CIPX can provide a compression ratio of
  19. approximately 2:1 including both IPX header and data.  This method can
  20. be used on various type of WAN media, including those supporting PPP
  21. and X.25.  This memo ia a product of the Point-to-Point Protocol
  22. Extensions (PPPEXT) Working Group of the IETF.

  24. This is now a Proposed Standard Protocol.

  26. This document specifies an Internet standards track protocol for the
  27. Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for
  28. improvements.  Please refer to the current edition of the "Internet
