  41. I. Purchasing a User License and a Registration Code

  43. The software 'The Next Tool' for Windows(R) 95 is shareware. That
  44. means you can try out the software for 45 days free of charge. If you
  45. want to use the software after the 45 day evaluation period, you have
  46. to purchase a registered user license. If you purchase the license,
  47. you will get a personal registration code to register the software
  48. and the right to use the software permanently.

  50. If you use a version of the software that is not registered, a
  51. shareware reminder will appear about 10 days after the software was
  52. installed. After 45 days the reminder screen will temporarily block
  53. the use of the program and you can remove the reminder screen without
  54. quitting the program only after an increasing period of time.

  56. Distributing the unregistered version of the software is allowed, as
  57. far as none of the guidelines that are named in the file 'LICENSE.TXT'
  58. are violated. For detailed information about the license agreement
  59. that is the basis for the use of the software, refer to the file
  60. 'LICENSE.TXT'.

  62. You can obtain a registered user license for 'The Next Tool' and your
  63. personal registration code for 49 US$. For further information about
  64. how to order refer to our order wizard 'ORDER.EXE'. To run the order
  65. wizard, simply press the 'Order' button in the 'Info about T.N.T.'
  66. dialog box. To open the 'Info about T.N.T.' dialog box, press the
  67. button or the icon of 'The Next Tool' in the taskbar with the right
  68. mouse button and choose 'Info about T.N.T.' from the main menu.

  105. II. Installing the Software
  106.  
  107. To install the software 'The Next Tool' for Windows(R) 95, open the
  108. file 'SETUP.EXE' in the directory in which the files of the program
  109. are located. SETUP will guide you through the install process by
  110. means of a wizard. Depending on the way in which you received the
  111. software (on a floppy disk, in a directory on a CD-ROM or in a self-
  112. extracting archive) there are the following possibilities to execute
  113. 'SETUP.EXE':
  114.  
  115. - Installing by using the start menu...
  116.  
  117. Insert the floppy disk or the CD-ROM on which the T.N.T. files are
  118. located in the corresponding drive and choose 'Run' from the Windows(R)
  119. start menu. Afterwards you can enter the path of the file 'SETUP.EXE'
  120. in the 'Open' edit control of the 'Run' dialog box. For instance, if
  121. the file is on a floppy disk in drive 'A:', you would enter:

  123. A:\SETUP.EXE
  124.  
  125. Then press the 'OK' button in the 'Run' dialog box. (Note: If the file
  126. is in a directory on a CD-ROM, enter the corresponding path.)

  128. - Installing out of a self-extracting archive...
  129.  
  130. If you received T.N.T. in the form of the self-extracting archive
  131. 'TNTWIN95.EXE' (for instance, by downloading the file with your modem),
  132. proceed as described above to open the self-extracting archive by means
  133. of the 'Run' option of the Windows(R) start menu. For instance, if the
  134. archive is in the 'DOWNLOAD' directory on drive 'C:' is, enter
  135.  
  136. C:\DOWNLOAD\TNTWIN95.EXE
  137.  
  138. and press the 'OK' button in the 'Run' dialog box. Then a dialog named
  139. 'The Next Tool - Self-Extracting Archive' appears in which you can enter
  140. the target directory for the extraction of the files. As soon as all
  141. files are extracted you can run 'SETUP.EXE' directly.

  145. III. Updating a Version that was Previously Installed
  146.  
  147. To update a version of the software 'The Next Tool' for Windows(R) 95
  148. that was previously installed, run the install wizard 'SETUP.EXE' of
  149. the new version as described above.
  150. When overwriting an old version, you have the chance to keep your old
  151. configuration files 'TNTWIN.INI' and 'TNTWIN.ICS', so your personal
  152. settings will not be lost.
  153. Anyway, please use 'SETUP.EXE' to update the software, so that
  154. entries in the registry and other system parameters can be updated
  155. and all improvements and extensions of the new versions become
  156. effective.
