  4. Please read the installation instructions below, and the file IE5.TXT
  5. before attempting to install the software. If you are uncertain as to
  6. whether your system is likely to have issues on installation you are
  7. strongly advised not to install this software.

  12. ic24 uses the very latest Microsoft browser software, version IE5. This
  13. means that if you have been using an earlier version of Internet
  14. Explorer it may no longer function correctly.

  16. Installation Instructions 
  17. -------------------------

  19. To run the ic24 installation software simply insert the CD and Windows
  20. 95, 98 or NT4 will automatically start it (if you have Autorun disabled
  21. for your CD drive, double-click on the CD drive icon in My Computer).
  22. The ic24 Internet Software can then be installed from the first welcome
  23. screen by clicking the Install button.

  25. Clicking Install will launch the Internet Explorer installer. You will
  26. be asked to accept the Microsoft Licence Agreement for Internet
  27. Explorer. You must accept the licence to continue. You will then be
  28. asked if you wish to install a typical set of components, or to
  29. customise your installation. Unless you are an expert we recommend you
  30. select to install the typical configuration. The installer will then
  31. install the browser software on your PC. When the installation is
  32. finished, the installer will restart your PC.

  34. When restart is complete, Windows will finish configuring your system to
  35. use the new software. This may include installing files and drivers for
  36. networking. You may need to provide your original Windows installer disk
  37. to allow the system to read the files it needs. The software will also
  38. detect and configure your modem. Ensure that it is connected and
  39. switched on. Once the networking is configured, you will be asked if you
  40. wish to complete your ic24 registration. If you select to register you
  41. will be connected to the ic24 registration server where you will be
  42. asked to provide some personal details and choose your email name and
  43. password. You will also be asked to provide a piece of security
  44. information such as your mother's maiden name which we may ask you
  45. should you forget your password.

  47. Once you have successfully completed registration, your browser and
  48. email software will be automatically configured for your new account and
  49. you will be disconnected from the registration server.

  51. You are now all set to start surfing and e-mailing. Double-click
  52. Internet Explorer or Outlook Express on your windows desktop to start!.
