  4. This section contains the help panels associated with the LAN Network Manager 
  5. Transfer Utility.

  8. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.1. Transferring Definition Data ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  10. The Transfer utility of the LAN Network Manager program allows you to export 
  11. station, bridge, and CAU definitions, and system parameters data. You can then 
  12. import that information to another LAN Network Manager. This utility copies all 
  13. of the information that was entered on the associated windows. 
  14.  
  15. This utility is also useful in backing up your data definitions. To use the 
  16. Transfer utility, do the following: 
  17.  
  18.   1. Select one or more of the following: 
  19.  
  20.     o Station definitions 
  21.     o Bridge definitions 
  22.     o System parameters 
  23.     o CAU definitions 
  24.  
  25.   2. Specify the drive that you want to write to or read from. 
  26.  
  27.      You can specify any drive including the drive for your LAN server. You 
  28.      cannot specify a path.  The Transfer utility writes to or reads from the 
  29.      current directory of the specified drive. 
  30.  
  31.      If you are exporting data, specify the drive to which you want exported 
  32.      data written. 
  33.  
  34.      If you are importing data, specify the drive from which you want the 
  35.      imported data read. 
  36.  
  37.   3. Select either Export or Import. 
  38.  
  39.      The export utility exports the specified data to an ASCII-delimited file 
  40.      using the OS/2 Database Management export utility. You will receive a 
  41.      confirmation message when the data is successfully exported. 
  42.  
  43.      The import utility appends the exported data to the existing data. You 
  44.      will receive a confirmation message when the data is imported. This 
  45.      message indicates how many definitions were imported.  If there were 
  46.      duplicate definitions, the message indicates how many duplicate 
  47.      definitions were found and whether the name or address was duplicated. The 
  48.      transfer utility will not import duplicate definitions. 
  49.
