- This utility is specifically designed to assist NodeOps in setting up TNPlus
- version 2.08 prior to programming. It is menu driven and simple to use. Be-
- fore invoking SET208.EXE, it is assumed you have the TN208.HEX or TN208.ROM
- files you will be working with in your current directory. The commands for
- bringing up SET208.EXE are:
-
- (For monochrome monitors) SET208 -b
- (For CGA color monitors) SET208
-
- SET208.EXE will then load and show the main menu:

- Ordinarily you will have available either a TN208.HEX file in the Intel Hex
- format to treat, or a TN208.ROM file which is the binary format. Use the
- format which is preferable to you. Following your selection of either number 1
- or 2 from the window, SET208 will ask you to list the name of the file you
- want loaded. SET208 is designed to only accept the file name WITHOUT the
- extension. When you make your choice of either number 1 or number 2, it KNOWS
- the file to be loaded will either be a .HEX or .ROM extension. (If you try to
- fool it, it'll let you know!)
-
- After it feeds on your file choice, it will burp and display the main menu
- again. Here, your obvious choice is to select number 3, so you can set up the
- specifics you want for YOUR node. Other than installing the callsign/SSID,
- node alias and password, there is not much else to do unless you see where the
- parameters listed are way out of line. Normally the recommended parameters
- are close enough for you to get your node up and running. Remember, if one of
- the first 16 should not be suitable, you always have the option to change it
- later by remotely SYSOPing it. The Parameters following number 16 cannot be
- changed after the node chip is programmed.
-
- It should be noted the values listed on the parameter menu are the same as
- associated with the particular TN208.ROM or .HEX file you are working with.
- Since this is subject to variation (for instance, the file passed on to you may
- have had the parameters changed somewhere along the line), we have included the
- recommended node default parameters in the following menu. Suggest these be
- printed out and compared with the ROM image you are working with.

-
- The Password string requires a minimum of 5 characters and no more than 40
- characters.
-
-
- When finished with the parameter menu, select 0 and you will be returned back
- to the main menu. Here choices 4 or 5 are the ones to zero in on. This choice
- should be based on whether your EPROM programmer likes a binary or a Hex file
- to work with. Again, SET208 will assign the appropriate extension, so it is
- only necessary to select a suitable file name, such as your node alias when
- the filename prompt appears.
