- COIN COLLECTIONS
-
-
- This format is designed for both hobbyists and the serious
- investor/collector. This format allows you to catalog you coins.
- You can then locate coins by any one of up to 21 characteristics
- and get a total value for your collection. For example, you can
- get a list of all coins of a specific denomination or all coins
- minted in the 1800's. You can check to see if you have a
- specific coin in your collection.
-
- The filename to use for this format is: COINS
-
- Let's look at the type of information that can be entered using
- the coin collecting format.
-
- Country - Use this line for the name of the country that minted
- the coin.
-
- Denomination - the face value of the coin.
-
- Year Minted - the year the coin was minted.

- Condition - Describe the condition of the coin or enter a

-
- Always use the same number of digits when entering values. If
- the value of items in your collection ranges from $1 to $1000,
- then the $1 items should have their values entered as 0001, which
- uses the same number of digits as 1000. If you need to include
- cents in some entries (such as in $1.50) but not in others, you
- do not need to type ".00". Digits to the right of the decimal
- point, while significant in determining the value of an item, do
- not affect how a computer sorts values.
