COIN COLLECTIONS This format is designed for both hobbyists and the serious investor/collector. This format allows you to catalog you coins. You can then locate coins by any one of up to 21 characteristics and get a total value for your collection. For example, you can get a list of all coins of a specific denomination or all coins minted in the 1800's. You can check to see if you have a specific coin in your collection. The filename to use for this format is: COINS Let's look at the type of information that can be entered using the coin collecting format. Country - Use this line for the name of the country that minted the coin. Denomination - the face value of the coin. Year Minted - the year the coin was minted. Condition - Describe the condition of the coin or enter a standard abbreviation that describes the condition. Note - For your use for any information that is important to you. If the value of items in your collection ranges from $1 to $1000, then the $1 items should have their values entered as 0001, which uses the same number of digits as 1000. If you need to include cents in some entries (such as in $1.50) but not in others, you do not need to type ".00". Digits to the right of the decimal point, while significant in determining the value of an item, do not affect how a computer sorts values. KM Number - enter the KM number.
