  4.                  Patch 1.54b - Dynamic Version

  6. This is the dynamically linked version of the Railroad Tycoon II game binary,
  7. as of version 1.54.w of the game. This binary is thus smaller than the normal
  8. static binary, and it depends upon the presence of the following shared
  9. libraries :

  12.      libSDL-1.1.so.0
  13.      libpthread.so.0
  14.      libX11.so.6
  15.      libXext.so.6
  16.      libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2
  17.      libm.so.6

  19.      libesd.so.0
  20.      libdl.so.2
  21.      /lib/ld-linux.so.2
  22.      libaudiofile.so.0

  24. This binary is compiled for GNU libc 2.1 ONLY and it is NOT officially
  25. supported by Loki. The purpose of this special release is to allow
  26. developers to use their own custom versions of some of those libraries
  27. with the game.

  30. GETTING ADDITIONAL SHARED LIBRARIES
  31. ===================================

  33. Most of the required libraries are part of all standard Linux distributions
  34. (this binary was built on a Red Hat 6.1 system). However, you may need to
  35. get those libraries separately at the following locations :

  37.   - SDL 1.1 : http://www.devolution.com/~slouken/SDL/download-1.1.html
  38.   - SMJPEG 0.2 : http://www.lokigames.com/development/smjpeg.php3

  41. INSTALLING THIS PATCH
  42.  
  43. This patch applies against an installation of the full game ALREADY UPGRADED
  44. TO THE STATIC 1.54b PATCH. You need to apply all previous patches before
  45. applying this patch.

  47. Just run the script by typing the following from the command line :
  48.  
  49.      sh rt2-dynamic-1.54b-x86.run
  50.  
  51. It will prompt you for the installation path of the game. If different
  52. from the default (/usr/local/games/RT2), type the name of the directory
  53. where you installed the game.

  58. This dynamic patch is NOT officially supported. Use at your own risk.
