The Accursed Husband (Wife?) Javier Grethev

JG comes from a lesser known nobility from another province/kingdom/land
whatever. His family has been dogged with misfortune and foul magic, and is
currently in bad shape politically and economically. However, his generation of
the family had seemed to shrug off the curse that had been placed upon it,
until, that is, he married.
(You can make this character a direct heir or close to the heir of the throne).

The Witch that had caused such misery for the family was thought to have been
destroyed over twenty years ago, but as a matter of fact the before the Witch
died she placed a spell into JG's father/uncle wedding ring. JG was the first
of his generation to marry, and inherited the ring. When he placed the Ring
onto the finger of his betrothed, Syingar Meron, the Witch was summoned
back, into her body. Syingar became possessed with the soul of the Witch.

The Witch had been hired to stuff up this family by neighbouring clans, and
it is to them that she wishes to return. She craves her payment, and some
revenge for the ordeal she has gone through. The battle for Syingar's body
had weakened it somewhat, for Syingar seemed to become immediately unwell
after the marriage. As soon as her strength was back, the Witch escaped with
some items from the Treasury and headed off in search of her former employers.
Perhaps she cannot return to her own body, and despises Syingar's beauty. Or
her current state is very vulnerable, and she must work some magic to rid her
of this vulnerability (take off the ring and she is lost again?) Whatever you
think of, give the witch her own aims and motives. It may be possible, using
knowledge of magic, witches or whatever, to divine what she will try to do.

So far, simple. However the Witch did not count on one complication: that of
possessing the body of another. Soon, to her intellectual horror, she finds
herself becoming a little like Syingar!  In particular, feelings for JG
resurface. As JG hunts her, he may begin to realise that the battle within her
may not be over, as Syingar/Witch begins leaving little clues behind.
As for JG, he may or may not know the truth, but even if he realises what has
happened, he still will not be able to harm the Witch, clothed as she is in his
love's body.

JG is also hamstrung by the direction of his quest: straight into rival clan
territory. He must travel incognito, without recognizable guards or privelages.

Adventure ideas: PCs hired to be his incognito bodyguard (they disguise
themselves as mercenaries, travellers whatever).
         PCs meet him 'on the road', incognito. He does not tell them
his identity, of course. Perhaps the PCs have met the Witch along the way.
         PCs hired by the Witch to save her from this 'foul man' who
is hunting her.
