Gif Viewers
-----------
Shareware .GIF viewers are available for Atari ST, Amiga, Mac, MsDos,
OS/2, Unix (C source), and Windows 3 - most of these are in the form of
compressed archives. The MsDos and Windows viewers work, others should
work but haven't been tested. They can be supplied on PC-compatible
disks only.
If you are registering as a user, and need a viewer, please enclose a
PC-formatted floppy (preferably 3.5") and SAE (UK only) or envelope and
International Reply Coupon (Europe; rest of world 2 coupons). If I can
write to your disk, I'll supply utilities when I send you your receipt.
Please note that the authors of GIF viewer programs generally request
a registration fee. I cannot accept responsibility for any problems
caused by viewer programs.
[ ] Please supply viewers for __________________ (type of computer)
Survey
------
The information you provide will help to decide the contents of future
collections. Data protection note: details will be kept but will not
be released to any third party.
Where did you obtain this collection?
[1] BBS or network
[2] Shareware library
[3] CD-Rom - please give title
[4] Copied from a friend etc.
If the answer is 1-3 please give the address so that I can send the
organisers/publishers future releases.
Do you find the rules
[1] Too complex
[2] Too simple
[3] About right
[4] Irrelevant, using world book with another game system
[5] Don't know
Do you find the background information
[1] Too specific
[2] Too vague
[3] About right
[4] Irrelevant, using rules for a different background
[5] Wrong (you disagree with much of what I've said)
[6] Don't know
To save disk space all graphics are monochrome. To avoid a peculiar
bug in one of the better PC .GIF viewers they have been saved as
16-colour files, but you should be able to see them clearly on a
monochrome display, laptop, etc. Would you prefer:
[1] Monochrome files saved as such
[2] Zipped PCX files (very slightly smaller than 2-colour GIF but less
readily transferred to non-PC machines)
[3] True 16-colour (or 16 grey scale) graphics (files about 3-5x larger)
[4] Bigger graphics, eg 800 x 600 (files 3-4x larger)
[5] Encapsulated PostScript files for DTP (not possible with some
of the images in this collection) instead of .GIF
[6] Continue with 640 x 480 2-colour saved as 16-colour.
[7] Don't know / care
[8] Can't read .GIF files
[9] Can't display graphics
Please ring the titles any of these games you use regularly, and
add any others you particularly like.
Call of Cthulhu Space 1889 GURPS
Amazing Engine Hero system Buck Rogers
Ghostbusters Time Lord Paranoia
______________ _______________ _______________
Please suggest any source book / stories etc. you feel might be suitable
for another collection. Material must be out of copyright, available
in printed form (or as copyright-free text files), and reasonably useful
for role playing. It must not already be the basis of another role
playing game. Short stories are preferable.
