  35.        After four years of extensive touring and recording Dylan takes a
  36.   sabbatical year, performing only once with Joan Baez at the Peace Sunday 
  37.   Rally.

  40.   1.  CALENDAR

  42.   January          Dylan once again joins Allen Ginsberg in the recording
  43.            studio. The resulting three tracks remain unreleased.
  44.  
  45.   March 15         Dylan is inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame and 
  46.            is interviewed by Jane Hansen. A short snippet is
  47.            broadcast by NBC-TV, March 15 and by ABC-TV:s 
  48.            "Good Morning America" on March 16.
  49.  
  50.   Spring       Dylan is alleged to have recorded with Al Kooper, 
  51.                    Mick Taylor and Jack Bruce. Three new songs, possibly
  52.            from these sessions are copyrighted in June.

  55.   June 6           Dylan and Joan Baez perform at the anti-nuclear movement
  56.            event Peace Sunday Rally. 
  57.  
  58.   Summer           Dylan produces at least four songs for Clydie King at
  59.            Gold Star Studios in Los Angeles. A couple of years later
  60.            he tells Mikael Gilmore in an interview that "I've also got
  61.            a record with just me and Clydie King singing together and
  62.            it's great, but it doesn't fall into any category that the
  63.            record company knows how to deal with".

  65.   December 22      Dylan visits Frank Zappa at his house and after playing
  66.            about a dozen songs for him, asks him to produce his
  67.            next album.
