  13. *****    INSTALLATION SUGGESTION    ****
  14.   We suggest that you add Print Screen for Windows to your 'Startup' 
  15.   group.  This way the <PrintScreen> key will always work everytime
  16.   Windows runs.  This saves you from having to locate Print Screen
  17.   for Windows, and run it every time you start Windows.
  18.  
  19.   If you would like Print Screen for Windows to start as an icon, just
  20.   edit the "properties" of the icon.  To do this, single click on the 
  21.   Print Screen for Windows icon, click on 'File', then 'Properties', 
  22.   check the 'Run Minimized' box, then press <OK>.  From now on, any time
  23.   you click on this Print Screen for Windows icon, it will start up 
  24.   minimized.

  28.   To install Print Screen for Windows 2.0e run the INSTALL.EXE from 
  29.   Program Manager.  Click on 'File' then 'Run' and type the drive, 
  30.   directory and INSTALL to run the installation.

  32.   For example, if you have the Print Screen for Windows files on a
  33.   floppy disk, place the disk in drive A: or B:.  If you place the
  34.   disk in drive A:, type "A:INSTALL".  If your place the disk in 
  35.   drive B:, type "B:INSTALL".  If you have the Print Screen for 
  36.   Windows files on your hard disk, type the drive letter, then
  37.   the directory, and INSTALL (i.e. "C:\MYDIR\INSTALL").

  39.   You will be presented with the directory that Print Screen for 
  40.   Windows will be copied to.  
  41.  
  42.   Pressing 'Install', will install Print Screen for Windows
  43.   into the specified directory.

  63. [2. How to use Print Screen for Windows]

  65. - TO PRINT THE ENTIRE SCREEN to your printer, press the <PrintScreen> key.

  67. - TO PRINT THE CURRENT WINDOW to your printer, hold the <Alt> key down and
  68.   press the <PrintScreen> key.

  75.         Open a previously saved screen print in a .BMP file.  Just type 
  76.         the name of the file you want to open and press <OK>, or double 
  77.         click the desired file name to open the file.

  80.         This .BMP file can be read in by many Windows programs.  If you
  81.         are writing a document or presenation that you would like to 
  82.         import screen prints into, you will want to save them to .BMP files.

  84.         The program will remember the directory you read your last .BMP file
  85.         from and save the future screen prints there.

  89.         Save the screen print to a .BMP file.  Just type the name of the 
  90.         file you want to save the screen print as and press <OK>, or double

  103.         the Printer Setup option.  If you do not setup a printer,

  109.         have installed on your PC.  Select any printer and driver
  110.         and press OK to print your screen prints to.

  117. Options Menu

  119.     Stretch
  120.  
  121.         Stretches/Squeezes the displayed screen into the 
  122.         size of the Program's Window.  This option will be 
  123.         restored if selected when the program restarts as 
  124.         long as 'Save Settings on Exit' is Selected.
  125.  
  126.     Reverse
  127.         
  128.         Displays/Prints the negative of the screen.  Similar to
  129.         a negative of a photograph.
  130.  
  131.     Auto Save
  132.  
  133.         Automaticaly saves the screen print to a .BMP file when the 
  134.         <PrintScreen> or <Alt>+<PrintScreen> key is pressed.  The program
  135.         will generate a file name like PS000010.BMP.  The first file
  136.         name generated is PS000000.BMP.  The file name of each screen 
  137.         print that you want automatically saved after that will be 
  138.         incremented by one, for example, PS000001.BMP, then PS000002.BMP...

  140.         These .BMP files can be read in by many Windows programs.  If you
  141.         are writing a document or presenation that you would like to 
  142.         import screen prints into, you will want to save them to .BMP files.

  144.         This feature is very handy if you are documenting a program or
  145.         system.  You can move through the program you are documenting,
  146.         screen by screen, pressing <Alt>+<PrintScreen>, saving them 
  147.         to .BMP files.

  149.     Auto Print
  150.  
  151.         Automatically prints the screen to the printer when 
  152.         the <PrintScreen> or <Alt>+<PrintScreen> keys are 
  153.         pressed.  If this option is not selected, then you 
  154.         must click on 'Print' in the 'Screen menu'.  This 
  155.         option will be restored if selected when the program 
  156.         restarts as long as 'Save Settings on Exit' is selected.

  158.     Print Date/Time
  159.         
  160.         When checked on the program will print the date and time the 
  161.         printout is printed below the screen print.

  163.     Short Icon Title
  164.  
  165.         The program will use an abbreviated program title when 
  166.         iconized.  This will save you screen real estate.

  168.     Fast Printing
  169.  
  170.         Use a method of printing that sends your screen print
  171.         the printer faster than normal.  You may sacrifice a little
  172.         print quality, but the screen print will be send to the 
  173.         printer faster.  The original version of Print Screen for 
  174.         Windows used the slower method of printing to ensure the
  175.         highest quality printout.  This feature allows you to 
  176.         control how fast you need your screen print to print out.

  178.     Save Settings on Exit
  179.  
  180.         Saves the state of the Options when the program exits.  The 
  181.         Options will be restored when Print Screen for Windows 
  182.         is started again.  This option will be restored if selected 
  183.         when the program restarts as long as 'Save Settings on Exit' 
  184.         is selected.

  191.     Run Print Screen as a hidden application.  You will not see a 
  192.     Window or an icon on the desktop when the program is running.  
  193.     'AutoPrint' is the only option activated.  Therefore whenever 
  194.     you press <PrintScreen> or <Alt>+<PrintScreen> your screen or 
  195.     window will automatically print to your printer.

  197. [5. OLE Automation Support]
  198.  
  199. Print Screen contains an OLE Automation Server that allows access
  200. to the programs functions and options.  When invoked using
  201. "PrintScreen.Application", the calling application can access the
  202. methods listed below.  Note:  OLE Automation is not available in
  203. the shareware version of Print Screen.  It is only available in
  204. the production (or registered) version.
  205.  
  206. Before you use Print Screen's OLE Automation Server for the first
  207. time you must register Print Screen as an OLE Automation Server in
  208. the Registry.  If you do not register the server in the Registry,
  209. your application will not be able to locate where
  210. "PrintScreen.Application" resides and will return an error you your
  211. program.

  213. You do this one of 2 ways.  1)Start the program and exit or
  214. 2)Run the program with '/RegServer' as a command line argument.

  219. It would be ideal to run this step at the time when you install
  220. your application on your user's machine.  When "uninstalling" your
  221. application, run "PRNTSCRN /UnRegServer" to unregister the entries
  222. for the Print Screen's OLE Automation interface.

  408. versions via mail, and/or telephone.  American Systems will
  409. answer questions and resolve serious bugs for the first 
  410. three months after registration.  For problems involving a 
  411. specific hardware or software environment or feature, we 
  412. may choose not to modify the program.  In that case, if a 
  413. problem is reported within three months after purchase, 
  414. then we shall offer to refund the user's purchase price.  
  415. If a bug prevents you from evaluating Print Screen for 
  416. Windows during the first 30 days (prior to purchase), 
  417. American Systems  will attempt to assist but is not under 
  418. obligation to resolve issues beyond our control.
